Get started with PeriCode
Start with the installation guide, then open Settings → PeriCode → AI connection.
Connect your AI provider
Choose Subscriptions, API keys, or Local / custom servers. Connect the provider, use Load models, and select an available model.
- Claude: install Claude Code and sign in with an eligible account.
- ChatGPT / Codex and GitHub Copilot: sign in from the plugin. The models you can use depend on your account and the connection PeriCode supports.
- Grok: install Grok Build to use your account, or enter an xAI API key. API usage is billed separately.
- Ollama Cloud: sign in on your Ollama server and configure cloud models there, then connect that server in the plugin.
- API keys and local models: connect a supported API provider or compatible model endpoint. OpenRouter uses its own credits.
A subscription with one provider does not cover another. Models and usage limits depend on that account.
First setup
Open Setup guide in PeriCode settings. Connect a provider, save any changed connection details, load models, and choose one. You can also set up later.
Using the plugin
- Open the PeriCode sidebar from its ribbon button.
- Choose Find a note, Summarize notes, or Review a note to prepare a draft. Replace the topic or attach notes with @, then send when ready.
- Attach context with the paperclip or select a passage and use the attachment command.
- Start in Research mode to inspect notes. Use Agent mode when you want changes, subject to permissions.
- Use revision preview to review a suggested edit before applying it.
